Let’s get something straight:
I didn’t stumble into HR — I ran it.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve served as a Chief People Officer (CPO) and CHRO for companies across tech, healthcare, and professional services. I’ve led layoffs, mediated lawsuits, and sat in executive boardrooms where “culture fit” was code for “Don’t rock the boat.”
I’ve written policies designed to protect companies—not people. I’ve seen promotions decided over drinks, raises denied for asking the “wrong way,” and gaslighting weaponized in performance reviews.
And now? I’m done playing nice.
Because someone needs to give employees the real playbook.
Not the vague handbook HR throws at you during onboarding — the actual strategy for surviving toxic bosses, navigating shady HR reps, and negotiating without getting labeled “difficult.”
